What is the source of the Ebola virus? According to this article on Sky, its from animals. Specifically apes and bats. It was first identified in Zaire they claim.

  • The disease was first identified in Zaire in 1976, in a part of Africa that is now part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • It is believed that fruit bats may be one of the hosts and is also known to be present in monkeys and apes.
  • It is thought it may have made the leap from animal to human through the custom of consuming bush meat, which is common in some parts of Africa.

There you go, all you bush meat lovers, make sure what you eat is properly cooked and from healthy sources. For all our sake.

Ebola came from primates like apes. It got into humans via eating unsterile meat. Particularly in Africa where the practice of eating "bush meat" is rive.
